1. Three of a kind (leopard, bao zi): three cards of the same rank.
2. Straight flush: three cards in sequence and of the same suit.
3. Flush (jin hua): three cards of one suit, not in sequence.
4. Straight: three cards in sequence, mixed suits.
5. Pair: two cards of the same rank plus one other.
6. High card: none of the above, judged by the highest card.

Note that a flush ranks above a straight here, which is the opposite of five-card poker. With only three cards, straights are actually the rarer hand, and players coming from poker often get this wrong.
