Baccarat on Ezugi: Three Outcomes and How to Bet on Them

Baccarat has a reputation for suspense, but the rules are short. Each hand at Ezugi's live table can end in only three ways: Player wins, Banker wins, or it's a tie. You pick one before the cards come out.

Banker is a hand, not the house

This is the point that confuses new players most. In baccarat, "Banker" does not mean the casino. It's simply the name of one of the two hands the dealer lays out, the other being "Player".

You aren't the Player, and you aren't playing against the Banker. You're betting on which of those two hands will score higher. You can back either one.

Scoring a baccarat hand

Each hand starts with two cards and may take a third, following fixed drawing rules that the dealer applies. You never have to decide whether to draw.

• Aces are worth 1.
• Cards 2 to 9 are worth their number.
• Tens and picture cards are worth 0.

Add the cards and keep only the last digit. A 9 and a 5 make 14, which counts as 4. The hand closest to 9 wins. If both hands finish level, the result is a tie.

Ezugi baccarat bets and payouts

The three outcomes are also the three main bets:

• Player: usually pays even money.
• Banker: usually pays even money less a 5% commission, because the Banker hand wins slightly more often under the drawing rules.
• Tie: a much less likely result, paid at higher odds shown on the table.
