Not everything on 918Kiss spins. Hold'em is the app's take on the best-known poker variant, and if you have watched any poker on television, you already know the shape of a hand.
How a Hold'em hand is dealt
Each player gets two cards face down. These are your hole cards and nobody else sees them. Five community cards then go face up in the middle of the table, and they arrive in three stages:
- Three cards together (usually called the flop)
- One more card (the turn)
- A final card (the river)
Your hand is the best five cards you can make from your two plus the five on the board. There is normally a betting round before the flop and after each new stage, which is where the decisions happen.
Hand rankings, briefly
Standard poker rankings apply. From the top: royal flush, straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, one pair, high card. A pair of aces in your hand looks strong, but the board can change that fast.
